Lupus
Overview

What you need to know about lupus.

Lupus is a chronic auto-immune disease in which the immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal tissue, resulting in inflammation and other symptoms. The cause is unknown, and symptoms can range from mild to life-threatening.

The Social Security Administration evaluates lupus under the immune system disorders listing. Approval typically requires documented involvement of two or more organs or body systems, with at least one at a moderate level of severity, plus constitutional symptoms such as severe fatigue, fever, malaise, or involuntary weight loss.

We help clients gather rheumatology records, lab work, and treating-source statements that demonstrate the true functional impact of lupus on the ability to sustain work.
